What are the key factors that can cause my application to fail?

Can I track the status of my application?
Yes, you can. The status of your Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) application can be tracked online through the official website of the Malaysia Immigration Department or the My (MM2H) Sdn Bhd portal, using your name, MM2H reference number, or Immigration reference number.
While this option is available, many applicants find the process confusing or worry about missing important updates. That’s why we’ll track your MM2H application on your behalf and keep you updated at every stage. You’ll receive regular progress updates so you always know the current status and don’t have to chase it yourself.
How long does it take to get MM2H approval?
Applications typically take 3 to 6 months. However, with our extensive experience in documentation management and strong relationships with government authorities, approval can be obtained within 1 month if all documents are submitted correctly.
What should I do if my application is rejected?

MM2H PASS
What is the duration of the MM2H pass?
The duration of the MM2H pass depends on the category:
- Silver: 5 years
- Gold: 15 years
- Platinum: 20 years
- SEZ/ SFZ: 10 years
Can the MM2H pass be renewed?
Yes. MM2H passes can be renewed every 5 years after the maximum duration of the MM2H programme has been reached.
Is there a minimum stay requirement in Malaysia?
MM2H participants under 50 years old are required to stay in Malaysia for a cumulative total of 90 days per year. There is no minimum stay requirement for participants aged 50 and above.
Can I travel in and out of Malaysia freely under MM2H?
Yes, the MM2H pass is a multiple-entry visa, allowing unlimited travel in and out of Malaysia.
Can I bring my family to stay in Malaysia under MM2H?
Yes. You are allowed to bring dependants, including:
- Spouse
- Biological children, stepchildren, or adopted children below the age of 21. Children aged 21–34 must be unemployed and single while staying in Malaysia.
- Disabled children (medically certified) with no age limit.
- Parents and/or parents-in-law.
Can I bring my foreign maids to Malaysia under MM2H?
You are allowed to bring in foreign maids only if you are in the Platinum category.
MM2H COSTS & FEES
What are the key costs involved in the MM2H programme?
Costs depend on category, but generally include:
- Fixed Deposit: Silver (USD 150K), Gold (USD 500K), Platinum (USD 1M), SEZ/SFZ (USD 65K / USD 32K)
- Participating Fee (One-off): Silver & SEZ/SFZ (RM 1K), Gold (RM 3K), Platinum (RM 200K)
- Official Agent Fees: Silver/ SEZ/ SFZ (RM 40K), Gold (RM 55K), Platinum (RM 70K)
- Other Costs: Medical check-up, medical insurance, property purchase, etc.
Can the participating fee be paid in instalments?
No, the MM2H participating fee is a one-off payment and must be paid in full.
If my application is unsuccessful, will the full participation fee be refunded?
No. The participating fee is fixed and non-refundable. It is paid by the principal applicant to take part in the programme.
MM2H FINANCIAL TERMS
Can I withdraw my fixed deposit for property or medical expenses?
Yes. A maximum withdrawal of 50% of the principal FD value is allowed starting from the second year after approval as an MM2H participant, for purposes such as purchasing residences, education, medical, or tourism-related activities in Malaysia.
Are MM2H participants required to pay Malaysian taxes on foreign income?
No. Participants enjoy tax exemption on foreign-sourced funds or income, including fixed deposits (FD).
MM2H PROPERTY TERMS
Can MM2H participants buy property in Malaysia?
Yes. MM2H participants are required to purchase and own a residence after receiving approval. The property cannot be sold within 10 years, unless it is being upgraded to a residence of higher value.
Are there restrictions on the type or price of property?
Yes—minimum purchase prices vary by package:
- Silver: RM 600,000 or above
- Gold: RM 1,000,000 or above
- Platinum: RM 2,000,000 or above
- SEZ/SFZ: You can only purchase a property in Forest City, Johor..
OTHER MM2H TERMS
Do MM2H participants need medical insurance?
Yes, medical insurance is required for applicants aged 60 and below.
Can I access public hospitals in Malaysia?
Yes, you can access public hospitals as an MM2H participant in Malaysia, but with limitations and higher costs compared to citizens, though you’ll need to pay the foreigner’s rate.
Can I work or set up a business in Malaysia on an MM2H visa?
Only Platinum category holders are permitted to engage in employment or run a business. SEZ/SFZ, Silver, and Gold holders are not allowed to work.
